Stafford Consultants professional staff of five registered professional engineers and thirteen technical and support staff provide a wide range of engineering services. This high ratio of professional to support staff is indicative of Stafford's emphasis on professionalism.
Stafford's staff has been involved in the planning, design, and construction phase engineering services for over 50 water projects in the past 23 years. Projects have included ground level and elevated storage tanks, booster stations, treatment plants from 50 gallons per minute to 3 million gallons per day, distribution and transmission pipelines. Wastewater projects designed and administered by Stafford includes county-wide studies, small community "packaged" systems, larger conventional collection systems, innovative cluster systems, and treatment plant designs and upgrades ranging from less than 10,000 gallons per day to 5 million gallons per day.
Stafford Consultants has provided transportation design services to the West Virginia Division of Highways for approximately 30 highway and bridge projects over the past 23 years. The Division of Highways awarded Stafford their Engineering Excellence Award for two of the bridges and one of the small highway projects, as well as naming Stafford a finalist on other projects. Stafford also provides bridge design services to local governments and private clients.

Design of athletic facilities has been a specialty of Stafford Consultants. Stafford has served as the lead design professional for numerous athletic projects at Marshall University, including the football stadium, tennis courts, and weight training facility. Other Stafford projects include the Princeton Devil Rays baseball stadium and the Hunnicutt Field football turf project in Princeton. Through association with an architectural firm, Stafford also provided design services for the Virginia Tech football stadium handicap accessibility renovations and the Merriman Center football facilities building.
Stafford Consultants also provides structural engineering services for public and private clients. Typical projects range from structural evaluations for individual residences, to analysis of existing structures such as parking garages or commercial buildings, to new construction like the Chuck Mathena Center for the Performing Arts in Princeton.
In addition to conventional planning, design, and construction phase services, Stafford provides our clients with assistance in securing funding for projects. This often involves coordination with the local Planning and Development Councils, and Stafford has a long and well-established working relationship with these agencies.
